April 2022 Gas Card Promotion

Posted by Eric Johnson on Apr 13th 2022

With gas prices reaching record highs lately, it's time to take a good, hard look at improving your RV's fuel efficiency. In this newsletter we will discuss a few tips that will help you boost your MPG so you'll have more money in your pocket at the end of your journey. Plus, we want to help you Fuel Your Adventures this spring!

Now through April 30th, you can earn up to $75 in gas cards when you make a purchase at TechnoRV* -- spend $200 and get $20 for gas, spend $450 and get $50 for gas or spend $600+ and get $75 for gas. Make sure you enter the code GAS22 at checkout. This is how our team knows to pull your order and send you a free gas card, which will be mailed at the end of the month. See offer details below.

*Runs from April 13 to April 30, 2022. Must use code GAS22 at checkout. Gas cards will be mailed out the first week of May. Offer is subject to change. Discount only available during the sale. Cannot be combined with other offers. Offer not valid on previous orders. Unless otherwise notified, we will ship your gas card to the shipping address used for your qualifying order. If you process a return on an order placed during this offer, the gas card will be yours to keep and the total return will be reduced by the value of the gas card issued to you. Use code GAS22 at checkout and get a $20 gas card when you spend $200, $50 when you spend $450, or $75 when you spend $600.

Stick to Your Maintenance Schedule

Making sure your engine is performing at peak levels will not only improve your fuel efficiency but will also save you money in the long run by preventing costly repairs. Don't skip routine oil changes, filter changes, or other maintenance. Dirty air filters have been known to decrease fuel efficiency while faulty oxygen sensors can certainly reduce fuel economy as well. Bottom line here is to always keep your vehicle in tip top shape!

Keep Tire Pressure On Point

This is one of the easiest, and yet most overlooked, ways to improve your fuel efficiency. Properly inflated tires can boost your MPGs by as much as 3%. Not to mention the safety benefits of keeping your tire pressure at the proper PSI based on the manufacturer’s recommendation.

We love our VIAIR tire inflator (which is specifically designed for RVs) and our TST tire pressure monitoring system, which shows us live-real time tire pressure stats for every tire on our rig. Plus, we get warnings if any of our tires get into a blow-out danger zone, based on temperature and pressure.

Watch Your Weight

When possible, try traveling with your freshwater tanks at (or below) one-quarter full. If you can travel with your gray and black tanks empty, all the better. Water weighs 8.3 pounds per gallon, which can add up FAST. Anything you can do to reduce weight will help with fuel economy, so it could be time to get rid of that bowling ball collection.

Worried about drinking water quality at your destination? A Berkey Water Purification System is a great solution to ensure your drinking water is safe and delicious. If you’re looking to clean up the water to all parts of the RV, including shower and sinks, then a built-in Clearsource RV Water Filter System might be the right option. Clearsource is a new product for TechnoRV so check them out if you have not seen them. Also, our friends Chad and Tara from the YouTube channel Changing Lanes use the Clearsource, and if you missed our last newsletter, you can watch Chad's video on Clearsource here.

Minimize Hard Acceleration & Idling on the Road

While I know this is not always possible, smooth driving at a speed of around 50-55 mph is the best way to keep your MPGs optimal while you're on a long trip. I know this may not always be easy to do, but if you can avoid steep hills, long-term idling and rough terrain then this could also help your fuel economy.

We've had a ton of success planning our trips using our Garmin RV GPS thanks to the custom routing feature, which takes into account the size and weight of your RV and then finds the best route for your vehicle. It also provides road warnings to keep you aware of steep grades, sharp curves, weight limits, and more.

Right now, you can save $100 on a Garmin RV 780. We also have the refurbished 890 model on sale for $374.99, normally $499.99 and it comes with a 1-year warranty.

We're looking forward to getting out on the road soon and hope you are too. Thanks for choosing TechnoRV for your RV gear. In addition to our learning resources and customer service, we're excited to be able to offer free gas cards for a limited time to help Fuel Your Adventures!

Happy traveling,
